Movie Summary:
Jongli tells the emotional and powerful story of Johnny, a quiet and soft-natured young man. At the beginning of the film, Johnny falls in love with a girl, and under her influence, he transforms into a well-mannered, organized individual. However, things begin to fall apart when their relationship deteriorates.
Heartbroken and lost, Johnny becomes a wanderer. His appearance becomes wild—disheveled hair, dirty clothes, and a foul odor. Society starts calling him “Jongli” (The Wild One).
Everything changes when a little girl named Pakhi enters his life. Orphaned and alone, Pakhi finds comfort in Johnny’s company and starts living with him. Over time, a beautiful father-daughter bond develops between the two.
One day, in a moment of frustration, Johnny leaves Pakhi behind. Regret soon follows, and he returns to bring her back—only to find that Pakhi is gone. After a frantic search, she is discovered brutally assaulted. A group of criminals had attacked her, but somehow, the blame falls on Johnny.
Wrongfully accused, Johnny is arrested and brought to court. However, with the help of a dedicated lawyer (played by Shobnom Bubly), he is granted bail. What follows is Johnny’s journey not just to prove his innocence, but to seek justice as a father. Fueled by grief and rage, he awakens the true wild side within—the “Jongli” that society named him.
